Jim founded HiON to address the rapidly growing public EV charging infrastructure gap. With deep expertise in ground-up company building and complex infrastructure projects, he led HiON to become one of Tesla's first Canvas Program partners for third-party charging site ownership and operation — a distinction held by only ~4 companies in the US.

Joe is one of the most accomplished franchise operators in the United States. He joined Smoothie King when it had 39 locations and scaled it to over 1,400 — ultimately selling to a South Korean master franchisee. He has served as CEO across iconic brands including Mrs. Fields, TCBY, Smalls Sliders, Painting with a Twist, and Color Me Mine. Starting his career as a franchise attorney, Joe brings the rare combination of legal rigor and operational execution that franchise systems demand.

Steve Wazny, Principal of Wazny Management Group, has spent 35 years in the restaurant industry. He started as an hourly employee at Bob’s Big Boy at 16 and worked his way up to district manager before becoming a franchisee. Today he owns and operates 47 Jack in the Box restaurants in the Seattle region, 64 Arby’s restaurants across California, Oregon, Washington and Utah, and 7 Jimmy John’s restaurants in Olympia, Washington. He is an investor in and board member of HiON, and he encouraged his children to become franchisees. They became HiON’s first franchisees and are developing charging sites, including the company’s flagship station at Denver Tech Center. In October 2026 the International Franchise Association named him to its 2027 Board of Directors.
